This analysis focuses on differences between current and historical young audiences. Accordingly, we categorize people by their age during data collection. This investigation doesn't perform cohort analysis – ideally based on data gathered over longer durations than available. However, in certain fundamental aspects, we can observe that contemporary youth distinctly differ from previous generations: they've matured in a world – and online media environment – vastly different from before, with implications for their current news consumption and likely future behavior.
